Like Some Awful 50's B Movie Come To Life, The "Crazy Raspberry Ants" Are Believed To Have Arrived In Texas Aboard A Cargo Ship, And Are Causing Widespread Mayhem. For Some Unknown Reason They Are Attracted To Electronics, Which Is Causing Problems For Residents In The Deep South. The Chicken Store continues the crusade

I recently took a trip to the Florida Keys and stumbled upon a shop that would make Steve Irwin proud. It's "The Chicken Store," operated by Jesse and the gypsy chickens. It is a quiet little store filled with art that Jesse has produced and it helps to pay for the Rooster Rescue Team that is based at this location. Now, why do the chickens need rescuing in Key West? I guess it is because they taste so good.

Since we have cleared that bit up, now it's on to The Great Key West Chicken Debate! Some say they are pets and some say they are dinner but whatever they are, they have come to roost in Key West. But that hasn't happened without the Key West Chicken Wars becoming the talk of the town and yet The Key West Chicken is still around.

With the US water supply being contaminated by so many different chemicals, pesticides, oil, mercury, as well as whatever the Government puts in our waters, how do you expect wildlife to thrive or even cope with this many poisons. This just might be a surprising fact to most. Everyone probably already realizes that homes built in Florida don't have basements. There is a simple reason for this: Florida is way to close to sea level in order to have basements. Florida has enough of a flooding problem without basements. Yet I do not live far from MacDill AFB which is on Tampa Bay that leads out into the Gulf of Mexico. So why is it that some of the buildings on MacDill AFB have not only one basement but several levels of basements? Yes, during even a couple inches of rain there is plenty of flooding in these basements and from what I've heard, there is radioactive materials or residue in these basements that contaminate the soil and the water. To me, that is a flagrant disregard to humankind as well as our environment. This is a good example of how much the US cares about our World environment and wildlife. Sad but true!

Hercules: The World's Biggest Dog Ever According to Guinness World Records. Hercules was recently awarded the honorable distinction of World's Biggest Dog by Guinness World Records. Hercules is an English Mastiff who has a 38-inch neck and weighs 282 pounds.

The Irwin Family has decided to release a DVD of the memorial at the Australia Zoo last month. The video will include interviews with the whole gang. Unfortunately there is still no word on the video shot of his death. In my opinion, I believe that it should be placed at the beginning of this DVD as Steve would have wanted. The money raised from sales will go to help Bindi to keep Wildlife Warriors on the track toward the future. Even in death Steve Irwin has had enormous effects on the living.

The man, the myth, the legend has left the stage for the last time but he cannot & will not be forgotten. He shall live though us in our memories of him. We always thought what a crazy fu__. No matter how many times he got bit, beaten, or battered he was a true showman and came back for more but this time it was just too much to ask of him. He gave his all to wildlife conservation and in the end that is what took him; I am sure he would have it no other way. This was a man who lived his dreams and unfortunately died by them as well. The world has lost a great environmentalist. He will be missed but can never be replaced. We do not know what the future holds for us but he has shown us not to fear it! This has been a difficult weekend for the world but not as hard as it has and will be for his family. All that he has accomplished will not be in vain; he shall live on in our memories and TVs forever!! The world will miss you Steve Irwin!!!
